Today is last day to spend happy times in Maryland. We will go back to Japan tomorrow morning.

We stayed in Maryland for two weeks. While I couldn't learn to speak English well, but I have many good memories.

3 mentors and 2 teachers did very well by us and I could make many relationships here.
Through this English program, I learned many things and I want to visit Maryland again.

Last Saturday and Sunday, we went to Annapolis and Mount Vernon. We took a boat to go there. It was very fun, because I felt sea breeze cool with listening Okinawan songs. The melody of Okinawan songs matches with seas.


After the cruise, we walked around Annapolis and King Street. I intended to buy some souvenirs, but I did not buy anything. I realized myself irresolute.

I walked around a Virginia shopping mall yesterday. It was very fun. I bought souvenirs for my friends.

Then, we went back to our hotel at 9:00 p.m., I met Brazilians at the lobby. After the short conversation, somehow I and one of the Brazilian women whose name is Deizi went an ice cream date.

I am not good at speaking English, she is also. My first language is Japanese and her first is Portugese. So, it was difficult to make up a conversation. But it was a valuable dialogue because I could learn about Brazilian soccer, music, politics, economics and culture. I also explained Japanese culture, food, music and politics to her. When we finished the conversation at 11:30 p.m., I was tired very much but it gave me a feelinmg of satisfaction.

Yesterday, we learned about “The Washington Post” in the morning and went there in the afternoon. We went into this building and looked around working places.
It was cleaner places than I imaged.

In this weekend, We walked around Washington, D.C. but most of our tour members may write about this field trip. So I am going to write about an event except it.

There are some Brazilians in our hotel. When I was playing soccer with my friends, this Brazilians came and played soccer together. In my image, all Brazilians are good at soccer, but they were not so. It was not important for me. It was the most important thing to touch a different culture through soccer, because my dream is to travel around the world and to get many friendships by playing soccer with local people. They will stay in our hotel until August 19, so I want to play soccer much more with them and I will visit them to Brazil someday.

I am really here at the University of Maryland.

I have been in America for two days. It is my first experience to go abroad from Japan.
The flight from Japan to Washington, D.C. took about 14hours, so I was very tired when I arrived at the airport. In addition, from the airport to our hotel, we had to take big van for an hour.


After that, we went to a restaurant to eat dinner with three mentors. I chose a Mexican food, Tacos, it was very spicy so I needed much water. I like Japanese food very much, but I will try to eat American food during my stay in America.


Anyway I hope to have a good time for two weeks in Maryland.
